My 411

If you have made it to this page of my website, I want to say THANK YOU for spending some time with me and my work.

I have been living an artful life for 50+ years. I was introduced to art at a very early age on the performing side of the art spectrum.  My Aunt was a dance teacher and a studio owner, which made dance a natural first choice for me.  At the ripe old age of three, I made my debut on stage in a little yellow chicken costume. I was hooked!

That’s Me - Age 3

I studied dance for 25 years, began teaching dance at the age of 13, graduated from the High School for the Performing and Visual Arts as a dance major, and went on to dance professionally in Houston with The Houston Grand Opera, Theater Under the Stars, and several local dance companies.

Because I was deep-rooted in dance for so long, I never even considered that I might be good at any other form of art. But, in 2008, at the age of 42, I took a drawing class and fell in love with the visual side of art.  Once again, I was hooked!! I enrolled at the Glassell School of Art in Houston, Texas, and began to study design, color theory, drawing and collage. And even though I was "older" (in my own mind, at least) I slowly found my way.
